An analysis of more than 100,000 participants during a monitoring period of 30 years
Introduction
The 2018 Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans recommend a minimum of 150 to 300 min/week of moderate physical activity (MPA), 75 to 150 min/week of vigorous physical activity (VPA), or an equivalent combination of both. Methods
A total of 116,221 adults from 2 large prospective cohorts of two USA (Study of Health of Nursing and Escudo de Accompanhamento de Professionalism de Saudi, 1988–2018) were analyzed. Self-reported laser physical activity was assessed in detail by means of a validated questionnaire, repeated up to 15 times during the follow-up.

Results
During 30 years of follow-up , Lee et al. (2022) identified 47,596 deaths. Mutually adjusted analyzes for AFM and AFV risk taxa comparing individuals who adhered to the long-term AFV guideline (75-149 min/week) versus non-AFV foe 0.81 (95% CI, 0.76-0 .87) for all-cause mortality, 0.69 (95% CI, 0.60–0.78) for cardiovascular disease (CVD) mortality, and 0.85 (95% CI, 0.79–0.92 ) for mortality not related to VCD.
Compliance with the long-term AFM guideline (150-299 min/week) was similarly associated with lower mortality : 19% to 25% lower mortality risk from all causes, VCD and non-VCD.
Compared with those who met the long-term physical activity guidelines, participants who reported 2 to 4 times or the recommended minimum of long-term VPA (150-299 min/wk.) or AFM (300-599 min/wk.) showed 2 % to 4% and 3% to 13% lower mortality, respectively.
Higher levels of AFV (≥300 min/week) or AFM (≥600 min/week) did not clearly show lower mortality or harm from all causes, VCD and no VCD.
In pooled analyses, for individuals who reported less than 300 min/week of long-term AFM, additional AFV was associated with lower mortality; however, among those who reported ≥300 min/week of long-term AFM, additional AFV did not appear to be associated with lower mortality.
Discussion
It is well documented that regular physical activity is associated with a lower risk of cardiovascular disease and premature death. In 2018, the US Department of Health and Human Services Physical Activity Guidelines recommend that adults do at least 150 to 300 minutes per week of moderate physical activity or 75 to 150 minutes per week of vigorous physical activity or an equivalent combination of both intensities.
